Surgery waiting room in Memorial Hospital Ambulatory Care Center

This 18,200 SF outpatient surgery department is a replacement for a department that was originally built in the late 1970’s. As with most facilities of that date, there were problems in terms of space for staff to work, material and supply storage, and patient privacy. Privacy was an issue as patients were prepped for surgery and recovered in 2, 3, and 5-person rooms where they were separated only by cubicle curtains.
