Troyer Group Selected to Lead Redesign of Tassell Park in Cascade, MI
Cascade, MI – [August 20, 2025] – Troyer Group, an award-winning leader in engineering, landscape architecture, and planning, has been chosen by Cascade Township to spearhead the redesign of Tassell Park, alongside project partners Fleis & Vandenbrink and Native Edge. This initiative marks the next chapter in the Township’s forward-looking vision to enhance its public spaces through thoughtful design that connects nature and community.
Reimagining Tassell Park
This transformative project builds on Cascade Township’s broader “Village Reimagined” plan, which aims to create a walkable, vibrant downtown district integrating the Thornapple River corridor and public amenities. Key highlights of the Tassell Park redesign include:

Community-Gathering Spaces: Envisioning a versatile multi-purpose pavilion to host art classes, fitness programs, and civic events—as reflected in earlier concept renderings for Reimagining Tassell Park
A Collaborative Design Approach
Troyer Group, known for “shaping places, systems, and infrastructure that prioritize people and their experiences“, will lead the multidisciplinary effort. Fleis & Vandenbrink will bring local expertise in civil engineering, while Native Edge contributes culturally responsive, community-centered design native landscape design. This collaboration follows the success of the Rec Park Master Plan, a project for which the Township previously selected Troyer Group to research and craft the park’s long-term strategy. That past initiative demonstrated Troyer Group’s commitment to public engagement within the Cascade community.
Project Timeline & Next Steps
With demolition of the former Tuffy Muffler site already underway, the design and engineering phase will commence immediately.
